Cabramatta
Cabramatta is a suburb located in south-western Sydney, about 30 kilometres from Sydney’s central business district.Aboriginal people from the Gandangera tribe have lived in this area for more than 30 000 years. Early development by Europeans was mainly grazing. This gradually gave way to market gardens and sawmills. When a railway line was constructed during the 1850s, clusters of wooden houses grew around the line. It was essentially a rural community until the 1950s when migrant hostels and housing commission developments transformed it into a Sydney suburb.Cabramatta has changed considerably over the years. It is known as Australia's most diverse and cultural city. With it now containing mostly Vietnamese and Asian people.
