Local Government impact
The local government of Cabramatta is fair-field city council. The Fairfield Migrant Interagency was established to let a variety of cultural groups and individuals into the city, including Cabramatta, to show their needs and issues as well as promoting community harmony. A similar organisation is the Multicultural Advisory Committee, this enables community representatives and individuals from various migrant groups to provide formal input to the council.
State Government impact
The state government has maintained essential amenities to the culturally diverse community. Recently the New South Wales Government initiated work with Fairfield City Council on Cabramatta’s Strengthening Communities project.
This project aims to focus its efforts towards social issues such as crime, drugs, youth unemployment, socioeconomic disadvantage and poverty. The state government also built and is now expanding and developing on the railway.

Federal Government impact
A major influence on the change in the Cabramatta community was the federal government’s decision in the late 1970's to admit large numbers of refugees from Vietnam and house these people in migrant hostels in the Cabramatta area. Around the same time, the federal government approved a policy of multiculturalism, which recognized the rights of migrants to maintain their cultural identity, encourage and assist migrants to do so, and promote equal opportunity and access to services.
